Red River Parish Schools Proud of Local Student That Gets Presidential Shout Out

A northwest Louisiana third grader is getting some presidential attention.  During the State of the Union address, President Obama mentioned Red River Elementary third grader Amirikis Louis Smith.  Smith gave Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover $50.00 from his savings to give to the president to help the people of Haiti. The president mentioned Smith's donation at the end of the State of the Union address, saying that the student epitomized the decency found in American people.  The money will go to the Clinton-Bush Haiti fund.

Motto: We're Gonna Do it Again in 2010!!!

From the Principal

Red River Junior High School is a wonderful place to teach and learn. A great contributor to our school's greatness is the strong support from our parents and guardians, school personnel, and district adminstration. Our faculty and staff earnestly work to develop our students' qualities of scholarship, character, citizenship, and service. We are so grateful to the families for maintaining a similar focus, sending a consistent message to our students.

Your partnership is essential to your child's academic success and we look forward to working closely with you throughout the school year. We invite you to stay in close communication with your child's teacher(s). You can communicate through your child's agenda, e-mail teachers at our website http://rrjh.rrbulldogs.com or schedule a parent conference by contacting the secretaries or counselor at 318-932-5265.

On behalf of the entire Red River Junior High faculty and staff, thank you for supporting our school and working together with us to provide your child with the best possible education and school experience.
